Stimulating Maturity through Accelerated Readiness Training (S.M.A.R.T.) is a curriculum of multi-sensory activities that enhance large motor, fine motor, visual perception and eye-hand coordination skills. These readiness skills are necessary to learn to read and be successful at school. These skills are taught in a positive and play-like atmosphere where all children progress at their own rate.

St. Patricks Day in St. Boni

It was a beautiful sunny spring day, the kind that is still cold in the morning, but the sun finally feels warm. We gathered early in the day at a farm in St. Boni - to sing, to laugh, to learn . Nineteen Kindermusik educators and one new friend from Morocco spent St. Patricks day together at the Mid Winter Kindermusik Educators Retreat. Take a look at our day, and make plans to join us for our next get together coming up soon! Here we are doing a cool art activity that told us more about ourselves than we could have guessed
Betsy Flanagan - 98-100% Blarney Free, even on St. Patricks day, shared invaluable information about how to track our businesses on a micro scale
Katie "the heart" Henderson, leading us in Little Red Box, and recapping the emotion of the day
Long distance visitors, Kathy Morrison from Pittsburgh, Sonya Kempf from Aberdeen, Betsy, Katie, Helen (and Dinah) - saying a fond farewell to the Retreat.

My first blog post!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12Z6pWhM6TA&eurl

Hi fellow Kindermusik bloggers. My name is Shirley, and I offer Kindermusik classes in Eagan. The new semester of classes, beginning February 2, will commence my fourth year as a Kindermusik educator. I just love the curriculum and the connection with young families!

I enjoyed this little song, Cuppycake, on YouTube. I hope you will enjoy it, too. Just click on the link above. This blog post would not have happened without the assistance of my son, Grant. Thanks, Buddy!!

TV Alternatives

Of course it’s best for children to turn off the tv and do something with their hands, minds, and bodies. If you need a little help flipping the switch or pulling the plug, visit tvturnoff.org where you will find tips and support for those seeking to limit screentime and encourage creative play.

And while you’re suffering from tv withdrawal, here’s a list of online resources that give great ideas for things to do instead:
